The marble columns were like rainbows .

We visited some very old churches. First we visited the old Cathedral in Stockholm near the King's Palace . . . Then we visited a monastary from 1100 ad near Susi's Farm.
Then we visited some cathedrals in the villages in Bavaria. They were all handpainted and the buildings were shaped like a crosses. They weren't the places the tourist usually go, I think they were better. You could feel the beauty and peace as you sat in the church.
The cathedral in Stockholm had dead people buried in the floor from the 1600's! When we visited the cathedrals in Germany there were four skeletons, behind the glass wearing fancy robes, in each corner of the cross in the cathedral. They were some really old bishops, long gone home.
We also visited Oberammagau, Germany. It was a very beautiful city. When the Black Plague killed alsmost 1/2 of Europe in the 1500s the people of the village prayed to God to be spared and they promised to do a Passion Play every ten years if God let them lived. They all survived and the people have kept their promise |
