This is the main place Ludwig lived . . . it's called Linderhof. It even has a cave theater for Wagner's Swan Lake Opera.

There were all different kinds of statues and fountains..

This is Gerd and mom and I at Linderhof the castle King Ludwig II mainly lived at. Next to us is a postcard of King Ludwig II.

King Ludwig II was the favorite king of Bavaria. There are many secrets about him ... some thought he was crazy ... I think he was cool.

His bedroom in Neuschawnstein has a secret door. He built a cave on the top floor that looks real and his throne room has mosaics of animals from around the world. He also had a full theatre in his new castle and a huge kitchen with an elevator to bring up the food. He had lots of artists and crafts people working for him.

He loved art and music and gardens. His favorite composer was Wagner and he loved swans. He had cool ideas in making things look fun.

The only bad part about Ludwig is that he was spending too much money building his castles and the people were really poor . . . so that wasn't so fair.

Ludwig never finished this beautiful castle because he died before if was done. He was found in a lake with his doctor, the actual report says the doctor died trying to save him from suicide. No one know what happened...

This is his mom and dad's castle. They thought he was crazy, but no doctor really examined him.
