It looked to me like they took over almost the whole of Europe and then they traded with the rest like the Vikings. They took people as slaves from the Slavik countries, but they didn't take anything from the Vikings.

I was surprised that the Romans in Jesus time had glass for windows and hot water for baths and cool shoes.
