MN Foster Doll Project

Used dolls were collected from Minnesota Day Care Centers and we gave the centers new dolls for the children in their care. Volunteers from foster, kinship and adoptive care worked to process the dolls to help build awareness of children in out-of-home care.

Volunteers made over 200 Valentines and drew pictures of families. We wanted our voted officials  to know in their hearts that adopted, kinship and foster children are real children with real lives, real histories and real families.

Then we delivered to each of our Minnesota Senators and Representatives with information about what it is like to be in foster care.  The Mighty 20  volunteers recruited more volunteers to help distribute the dolls. Foster, kinship and adopted children joined forces with caregivers and professionals to build public awareness.

Baby Gurl and Lil' Mama (shown assembling the Foster Care Survival Kits) wrote "Searchin'" the song MoAngels  will be performing March 7 at the Capitol at 2:00 and Right Sound Studio in Minneapolis donated our music. A special thank you to Right Sound from Mo'Angels -- you are wonderful!
