Our dear little friend, Nina Gospicova, an exchange student from Czechoslovakia, died yesterday in a tragic accident.  She had just returned to Prague two weeks ago and on Saturday, 7/7/01, she died when the car she was riding in was hit by a train.  She was three friends, two boys and her girl friend Katrina.  Nina was killed instantly.  The two boys died as well and her friend Katrina was badly injured. 

God gave Nina to us as a sister in the Lord.  She was to me as a daughter.  I told her since I had no daughter and no goddaughter, that she was now my goddaughter.  When she was here, Bob and I often took her out to eat and when she had no money for a prom dress, I bought her one.  When we looked for a dress that day, I told her we would ask the Lord for the perfect dress.  Just a few minutes later, we both spied the same dress at the same time and said  “that’s it, that’s Nina’s dress.”  When we had bought it, she hugged it to herself, raised her eyes and said “Thank you, Lord!”  She tried it on again at home and was so excited she was bouncing off the floor.  Her feet didn’t even touch  the ground. 

Before she left for Prague, we went shopping again.   It was such fun.  It was like having a daughter.  I bought a really great pair of pants for her and new shoes to go with them.  She was so excited and thankful.  I told her that she was my goddaughter and that I would pray for her.

We just received the news a few hours ago.  Jodee called to tell me she had just heard.  Nina stayed with Jodee as an exchange student.  Nina was 17 years old and was sometimes very grown-up.  At other times though, she acted like a little girl..  She would sometimes call  Jodee “Mommy” and later called me “Mommy” as well in a very childlike manner. 

Today after I heard the news, stricken with grief, I began to pray for her.  Suddenly I saw her sitting at my feet holding onto my hands with both of hers.  She looked up at me begging me to help her.  “Oh Mommy, I am so afraid.  Help me, Mommy, I’m so afraid.  I don’t know what to do!” 

I looked at her with a broken heart and began to speak to her.  I told her I would help her and directed her to go to the Lord.   “Oh, Nina, go to the Lord.  The Lord is waiting for you.  Accept Him, go to Him.” 

I asked the Lord to protect her and send angels to guide her.  I also asked Him to send angels to fight the battle against hell and Satan and all his minions.  I saw hell open behind her but God sent many angels to go forth and do battle against Satan and hell for her sake. 

Other angels came and stood beside us to guide her to heaven.  But Nina was still uncertain and looked to me for help.  She stretched out her hand again to me and said “Oh, Mommy, please go with me.  Please go with me.  I need you to go with me.” 

I took her hand and said “I will, Nina, I will go with you as far as I can.”

We went together, surrounded by angels, upwards through the air towards the light of Heaven.  The angels carried us forward and we saw the light grow brighter and brighter as we neared the entrance.  The angels stopped at the threshold of heaven and we stood on the threshold looking in.  I looked back for a moment and saw the earth far below and off to one side.  It looked just like a dark ball hanging there, just a small blip in the enormousness of the heavenly realms.

Heaven was spread out before us and it was full of wondrous things.  I saw God on his throne with mighty waters coming out from below his feet.  There was the sound of great waters like huge waterfalls around him.  Though the sound of rushing water was powerful it was also somehow gentle.  Around his throne in an arc was a huge rainbow.  It was a surrounding light – light in all its colors.   The light throughout heaven was bright beyond description, permeating everything with its power but soft and comforting in its presence.

Nina said “Oh Mommy, it’s so beautiful.  It’s so beautiful!”  I said “yes, Nina it is.  Go to the Lord.  Jesus is waiting for you.”  We looked and we both saw Him in front of us, clothed in robes of light.  His love for her was a powerful force.  Just being in the Glory of his Presence was beyond description but to feel the power of His love for her was phenomenal, above and beyond any human comprehension.

I became aware that all around us was beautiful music, lovelier than any music I had ever heard.  It was as though it surrounded us and permeated the atmosphere itself.  Glorious, beautiful music.  I said “Oh, Nina, listen to the music, it is so beautiful!”  She said, “yes, Mommy, I hear it, it is so beautiful!”  The sound was beyond beautiful and beyond glorious but we had no other words to describe it.

I saw that heaven was huge in its parameters and full of angelic beings.  I was surprised it was so busy.  The angelic beings seemed to have many tasks to do..  I couldn’t tell what all the heavenly beings were but it seemed there were angels of many descriptions.

Heaven was also full of people dressed in robes of light.  They were sometimes quiet in a relaxed and joyful way and at other times very busy. At times they stood and worshipped God in a depth and beauty I’ve never seen here on earth.  When they sang, the sound joined with the music of heaven.  I saw many people around us to whom we were kindred spirits.  What joy there was in heaven amongst these people and heavenly beings.

Other angels came towards us.   They were holding a beautiful dress like a robe made of pure white light.  I said, “Oh, Nina, that’s your new dress!”  Nina clapped her hands and said “ Oh Mommy, is it really my new dress?  It’s so beautiful!”   I said, “Yes Nina, it is your new dress.  Go ahead and put it on.”  She walked forward and the angels surrounded her to clothe her in her new shimmering dress of light.

Nina was overjoyed.  She was so happy and so delighted with her new dress.  She turned to me with a face full of joy and said, “I’m all right now, Mommy.  I’m okay.”  She waved at me with her hand stretched out, wiggling her fingers at me, and I knew she would truly be all right.

I knew now I could return but before I went, I stood and watched her as she was received by the Lord Himself into His Presence.  What a blessing!  How glorious to be in that heavenly place!

The angels beside me let me know without words that it was time for me to return.  I stepped back off the threshold of heaven and saw the doors close in front of me.  The last thing I saw was Nina in total joy standing beside the Lord.
